383 Going in next week, what do to while got it all apart

I just did a cam/heads install, didnt go to well, spun bearings and crap. Not good things. Short block was messed up. Metal got in engine. Dont ask please

I got a 383 Short Block coming on saturday, actually going to pick it up. Its got forged pistons, rods, crank, new bearings, rings, etc.

I got a Comp Cam 305, Heads that are almost identical to LE2 heads. 1.6 roller rockers, hydraulic roller lifters, comp pushrods, manley race valves, extreme duty timing chain, isky springs, high torque starter, CSI Water Pump, 58mm TB, msd 8.5mm spark plug wires, mds coil, msd 6a ignition box, new optispark, edelbrock headers, tork master 2400, built up transmission, stock rear end,\

Im getting the 383 put in for 920 bux. So thats not as bad as i thought.

But I want to know if i will need a new fuel pump, and which one is good to get,

AND I want to get a bigger oil pan, but not one thats gunna drag on the ground, my car is already lowered so i dunno what i could get, Please give me some suggestions,

Thanks,

Nick

well, I was in the same boat exactly as you. after all that hard work, bearings went out. now my 383 will be driving tomorrow, only 4 mo.s later.
you'll def. need some 30 lbs inj.s and a racetronix pump along with a custom tune. now, unfortunatly, IMHO, that cam is WAY too small. my cam is 233/239 and I was thinkin of getting a bigger one. but I figure I'll give it a shot first. search on the oil pan question, its answered in a post I started a while ago. I think its a canton 242T if I remember correctly.

i do not have a huge cam..so i'm using stock injectors and pump..you will need to ding your oil pan and put a washer or 2 to lift your stock windage tray up....at least thats what i had to do for my crank..i too will be putting mine back in before to much longer...
