383 combo about to happen

Hey guys. I've been away for a long while, but I am back.

I got some parts, mainly a Scat 9000 series crank, Scat 6" I beam rods, main/head studs, solid roller 242/248 duration and 112 lsa cam (and all related valvetrain inc. springs), etc.

I am planning on building a N/A motor using these parts and using AFR heads. What pistons (flat top, dished) would I need (I am looking at some Probe pistons) to make 11:1-11.5:1 CR LT1 with those heads? I think those heads come in 70cc chambers, am I right? I also plan on running upto but no more then 150 shot of nitrous (wet kit) on this LT1. My goal is to dip into the 11s all motor, low, 11s on spray.

What would I need for an air/fuel system to support this setup. (all my current mods should be in my sig).

I figure a good fuel pump, AFPR, 28lb+ injectors, 52mm TB and a good tune. Sound reasonable? Any other suggestions? Thanks a lot guys.

P.S. I also am looking to upgrade to hooker LTs.

I was actually gonna leave that upto the engine machinist to fine-tune the compression. Any ideas in mind?

I know most guys deck their blocks to .005, but you can just leave that to the machinist.

As far as answering your questions, that's a little over my head. I'm sure someone else on here will have answers for you.

Any idea on what those AFR heads are like for power vs. CNCd LT1 castings? So nobody knows what pistons would be good for this combo?

Hahah, I know, this IS the best board I have ever been on, hands down....

I think this sounds like a 400 rwhp for sure combo and 11 second timeslips, plus nitrous!

Any idea what guys are running for nitrous on their stock bottom ends? I was thinking 100-125 would be safe.

I am looking at some Probe pistons
You might want to research these. I have heard a lot of negative oppinions about these.

You will probably need a min. of 30lb injectors, more likely 36.

See, I've heard good and bad about these. So what piston has the BEST reputation, my last motor had a piston failure, don't want that to happen again.

Both Ross and JE have excellent reputations for making a great piston.

I have a 95Z that I recently did the 383 stroker, and then lt4 heads and blah blah blah. I was told 30# injectors would be about right for it so if you are just stroking it I would say that should work. Someone on this forum told me that he knew someone that put down like 435 rwhp off stroking his car. I want at least 400. Having problems getting car started, but Ill keep ya posted.
