well, if you can afford it, def. go 383. it not only makes more power, but more power at lower rpm. so more torque, and you dont have to rev as high as a 355. my 233/239 cam was very mild driving yet it went 11.68. extremely driveable car. when it was 350, same cam, it drove good still. but pretty aggressive.

Go bigger if you go 383, I almsot made the same mistake going with the cc503, then everyone on here said NO! So I went with a bigger cam and I love it
With the cam I have, I could go quite a bit bigger IMO (take that for what its worth)
But I never wanted to go "to big" to where the cam was useless.

yeah I know the 383 will eat up the cc503 but I already have the cam in my current motor and I know my current valvetrain will support the cc503 but I'm not sure how much bigger. so I'd rather just carry over a cam and valvetrain knowing it will work than go bigger and have bad things happen, or spend money buying all the same parts over again

I was under the asumption you was buying all new, maybe it said it in the first post and I forget now hehe. Do it once, do it right. Just my opinion though.

prolly what I should have done, but this cam should still make decent power

considering it made 325rwhp through a stalled unlocked auto with midlength headers and a 13x,xxx mile motor. the addition of a fresh motor with 2~ points more of compression, more cubes, long tubes, and ported heads/intake, I don't see high 300's being much of a problem and that seems to be the standard power of stalled auto h/c LT1

obviously there is room for improvement but that's what n2o is for
