383 budget hypereutectic piston kits

i was thinking of building a 383. who has actually used the budget hyper pistons kits. what were results, problems, what brand, etc. i would like to here from people who have used them in there build . i know forged is better so let's not go there. the car is a street only, no power adders. not a daily driver. just a weekend car i want to run nice. after a lot of thought ,i do not want to spend a lot of money on a shortblock that will be street driven only. i have to buy a new crank so thats why i'm asking. please if possible no comments about other than what i am askiing. i want the low end torque of 383 with a nice small duration cam.

Never did it, but I have no doubt it would be fine for what you are talking about. After all, the stock pistons are HE and work fine unless detonation occurs. You8 can buy a set of KB HE pistons for around $200 - a bargain.

Sealed Power makes some nice hyper pistons too, they have coated skirts which is a nice little extra.

For what you want to do, a hyper piston is a fine choice.

i have all the supporting mods already. 236/236 cam, which i will go smaller, ported heads,1.6 rockers, guide plates,36# injectors,headers,cai,3200 vig etc. my car will never see dragstrip. i enjoy driving my car not working on it all the time, so i have drawn the line on where i'm going with it and the cost of getting there. my plans are lower rpms, more torque good street manors.

If you get the cheaper hyper pistons make sure you get the smaller rings not the 5 /64th. the extra drag eats a good bit of power.
