I think you can do it with what you Have planned. When I die I want it to be bc I hit the gas and the torque snaps my neck. I can only dream

Nope my car just has a simply 12 bolter with Richmond 3.73 gears, it should hold up just as as my GTA is simply a rig for running back n forth to work with all summer long the 406 shouldn't harm it a bit . . .

If i was going for a Racing type setup under the GTA i would more then like run a chopped 14 bolt or Dana rear end possibly.

all tho the unit under my AMX would be my ideal choice in rear end's, 4.44:1 gears fully lock carrier, Rip's off 9.60-9.70's at over 140mph in 1/4 has 75K miles on it and still going strong. . .

Best run was 9.63@143mph got good launch only spun 10-15 feet 2.8? 60ft. . .
Worst run was 9.72@138mph really sucked spun tires right threw the 60ft 3.2?. . .

It's been year's since i have ran that car as fast cars take $$$

69' AMX:
AMC 390 Crossram, borgwarner T-10 4spd, 4.44 Gears, G60-14s Front N50-15s Rear cars is 1 of 53 built.

You're not going to hurt any rear end with 2.8-3.2 60's

A 9" is more than adequate for 99% of the cars on here, as well as a 12-bolt behind an A3/A4 trans. Manuals are hard as hell on driveline parts.

I love when people say this stuff. I in no way had any money for nothing after my engine build. I bet your the guy who see's someone living in a 500k house with no swimming pool and is in debt up to there eyes then says "if they could afford a house they could of got a pool".

True that lack of traction sucks stupid polyglass tires , and yes The AMX is a manual transmission as well and its all factory . . .

Only Mod's i did was increase compression from 12.5:1 to 12.75:1 and re-jetted the carbs oh and the re-cured the spark, Other then that its a 100% factory Hurst AMX . . .

But the 9" rear end's i destroyed where all in truck's plain jane old truck's stripped 5 yokes broke 2 ring gear's and Blow 1 whole unit all over pavement plowing snow

I did a forged 355 a few years ago, and now wish I spent the extra cash to get the 383. From what I have researched, they will last the same amount of time, and it's the 396 that starts getting the cylinder walls a bit too thin. Just my 2 cents...

Thanks Dustin.. how's your car coming along?

It's been a quiet year for me, not sure how much racing I'm going to be getting in this year.

It's coming together slowly, we'll see if I can put together a H/C/I stock bottom end car without it coming apart...I know you had problems with yours. Just waiting on some small parts and possibly doing the transmission.

Yea, my racing will be limited also, between work an the 4500+ ft altitude it doesnt look good.
