357 rwhp w/Baby Cam and CA Smog Legal
357 rwhp w/Baby Cam and CA Smog Legal
I have not put up an LT1 tech post in a long time. It took me three years to get around to dynoing the new setup (which was installed in 2008) and another five months to post something.
You can see all the specifics of the car in my sig. On a dynojet the car put down 357 rwhp and 332 rwtq. The torque curve is almost flat and above 320 from 2,500 to 5,500 rpm. I use an OBDI PCM all the time except for every two years when I need to pass smog. I just pop the OBDII in for the test.
I'm also getting to the point were I need to focus on a hobby and the top priority now is fishing, so I plan to sell this car if I can find the right person. I can't express enough thanks for all the help and assistance I've had over the years on this forum. If anyone is curious or interested just check my post on the for sale board.

Re: 357 rwhp w/Baby Cam and CA Smog Legal
Hey Mike good luck on the sale, someone will end up with a very nice ride with all the perfect mods to be enjoyed. You may regret selling it, I drive my 95 vert everyday and can't seem to find anything that would make me part with it yet. Sure you can't keep the car hobby and fishing? I'm on the water pretty much April-Oct then diddle with the cars in the winter, doesn't leave much time for anything else. Good luck you will be missed around here. Thanks for the information again on that dual exhaust setup.

Thanks Rob and thanks Eric. Your replies are much appreciated.
I think the car is doing all it can for me to keep it. Thought I solved a ticking on the driver side today by replacing the #5 exhaust rocker. It's a Comp 1305 and for some reason the roller tip stopped rolling.
Logic would say it's an oil problem, but #5E oils just a much as the rest when cranking. Had to use a Comp 1605 as a replacement since the 1305 is discontinued. Started it up (the car had been sitting about 2 months) and now I have a new noise that sounds like the timing chain.
I definitely don't have the time and energy to troubleshoot this. Looks like I'll just have to drop the price to $10k and hope to find an enthusiast that can work on and appreciate the car. I could just trade it in but that would be a shame. It could easily be returned to "near stock" if someone wanted to do all the wrenching.

Thanks Mike. It's been too long. If you have someone you recommend to listen to my new sound and give some advice let me know. To me the LT1's with roller rockers always sound like a sewing machine, but I definitely have something new going on.
I think it's time for a 2SS 2012 Camaro with an automatic. I'll just drive it and put gas in it and let the dealer handle the rest
