I am not set on 355, I figured with the car having about 100k miles on it, I would have to go to 355.
Also, does anyone know of a thread that covers the rest of the basic stuff to buy for the rebuild? ARP bolts, which kind of optispark etc?

Stock polished crank, stock rods and arp rod bolts(resize the rods) will work.
Do not reuse the stock pistons or its a waste of a rebuild, they are heavy and the weakest link in the lt1 bottom end... I did and i put a hole in one after a 1000 miles.
You could always just use the bottom end you have now...but if you plan on reusing the stock pistons, dont bother taking any of the bottom end apart.

James,
What else did you replace when you did your motor? What kind of money did it run you? I am trying to get together a realistic shopping list and budget before I start.
It's one thing to think the heads are $1000 with a cam, but it's all the small stuff that adds up in a hurry. My guess would be in the $3000 range.
Thanks
