355 is just a stock Block Bored .030 over wich gets u another 5ci

I think you thinking about a 383 stroker. You whould need a .030 bore. a 3.750 stroke crank. and a 5.7 or 6in rod depending on what piston you are using. You whoudl also need to have your block machined for the bigger stoke crank

A Chevrolet 350 is a 4.00" bore block with 3.48" stroke crank and 5.7" rods. A 355 is achieved by a .030" overbore on the block (4.030"). It is possible to build a 6" rod (or longer) 355, but you'll need pistons with a different pin location.
Long rods USUALLY make more power, but they're not very "nitrous friendly" because the rings are usually moved closer together when the pin is moved up.

Rod length doesn't affect cubic inches. Bore and crank stroke are the only things that will affect displacement.

Let's add in the simple equation for finding cubes......

Bore x Bore x Stroke x # of cylinders x .7854 = cubes

4.00 x 4.00 x 3.48 x 8 x .7854 =349.848 cubes
4.03 x 4.03 x 3.48 x 8 x .7854 =355.115 cubes

Now for the 383 vs. 355 question. You need a new crank to get to a 383 but for a 355 you can resuse the stock crank, and rods if you want, but you might as well put in new rods and pistons.
