I was wondering about how much forged rebuild to a 355 would cost. any help is appreciated. Im taking into consideration that the head work and cam (probably LE2) will cost. Any ideas of how much the boring will cost and what other parts will i need? probably some dumb questions but im kinda new to building engines and trying to aquire as much knowledge as i can. thanks.

 

A 383 won't cost any more than a 355. Both being forged 4340.
Ya will probably have a $1000.00 machine shop bill.
About $2000.00+in the complete kit including rings and brgs.
$2500.00 in a good set of heads.
$7-800.00 in a valve train with cam.
$800.00/$1000.00 in gaskets, timing set,and accessories.
If ya are not doing the work of pulling it and building it yourself, ya are looking at another $2000.00.

Might want to look at a rebuilt short block from one of the board sponsors or Golen or a GM stroker crate engine.
