355 N/A possiblities
Alright, I have decided on the route of a 355, as to save on the cost of a 383, and buy a beater for daily duty. I want it to have no help making the power from nitrous or forced induction, and want it reliable enough to hit close to 7,000 rpms. I want to send the cylinder heads off to Lloyd Elliot for his porting/camshaft which seems to be an incredible deal. Anyways, for parts:
SLP shorties w/ catless y-pipe
Hooker cat-back
K&N FIPK
Summit Hypereutectic Rebuild Kit (weight savings vs forged)
Eagle lightweight "SiR" 5.7" press rods
Stock crank machined
LE heads, Joe O cam (similar to gm 847)
What torque converter to go with around 500-600 dollars?!?
I want a crazy street car, which will not see track duty often, and probably never with slicks! (Save the rearend fund is limited, as well as transmission) Is there anything I am missing?

7k on a stock crank?
I would build it for nitrous. Go forged rods, forged pistons. I have diamond pistons and C&A rods in mine. ARP studs. Stock P&P heads, and a cam (in sig).
Spray 150 a shot all day. Run mid/low 11's if not better.
