355" LT1 goes 9's!

Well first off I want to say thanks to Lloyd Elliott for doing an awesome job on porting my new Trickflow heads. This is the same old combo that has been in my car for 2yrs. It has an old CC306, 4k Vigilante converter, stock torquearm, swaybar and shocks out back with 3.55 gears and on 26x11.5" ET streets. I made a couple motor passes and the tune was way rich and the car only ran 11.30@119mph. I turned the n2o (150HP) on and it ran.
60' 1.50 spinning
1/8th 6.38
1/4 9.83@136mph!

I didn't get to make anymore passes since the car doesn't have a rollbar or any other safety equipment . Now I need to get the car on the dyno to do some tuning to get the car in the 10's on motor. Later

Congrats!

What did the trick flows do to your compression?

Pretty sick times with the 'old' 306 cam in there too What kind of intake are ya runnin on that thing? Did you mill the heads down too? I was under the impression that those Trickflow heads would lower the compression ratio. Or did you have the motor built the same times the heads were done?

Awesome

This just confuses me more on whether or not I should build a 355 or 383

Re: 355" LT1 goes 9's!

Thanks guys. The heads were angle milled .030 to get the compression back to where it was with the LT1 heads. I am also running a ported LT4 intake with the new heads. That old Cc306 is doing it's job. Later Clint

Thats awesome. I hope my similar combo is capable of such numbers when I get it to running again. Good luck with getting those numbers even farther down

Re: 355" LT1 goes 9's!

The chambers are still larger than astock LT1 by a few cc's though. It is lower than most LT1 headed set ups are BUT the heads are still working well.

We figured on losing a lil N/A although the car actually runs the same with out a good tune (blows black smoke, LOL). A good tune should get the N/A tomes in the 11.0x range and it is REALLY working on NOS. A good tune should have that car flying.

Good job Clint.
