355?

355?
I know quite abit lt1's but im not not all that sure about whats all going to be needed and what its going to cost.

I'll Start off by telling you my goals what im going to wanna know is how much is it going to cost me to get right were I want.

Right now I have 2800 stall, shift kit, 373, cold air,cut out, dynomax exhaust, lowering springs not sure what brand there black and cut great 60's probley a couple more im forgetting

What I want is a fresh engine that will run solid 12's in the summers heat. Mine is getting up there 126,000 miles

I want it pretty much like a brand new engine. with a Sickning cam that idles like a drag car, and to be-able to hold 100-150 shot with no problem.

I was thinking a fresh 355, cc306 cam, 1.6 rr's, jet hot hooker lt's, mildy ported heads (money will be a issue) and a pcmforless tune.

What parts would you guys go with is there any forged rebuild kits for an lt1 for cheap?

I'm doing a 355 build now. My ticker showed 115k on the clock so I thought it would be a great time since the heads are out to be ported, larger valves, different valvetrain setup, ect.

Anyway..... yes, there are "355" buildup packages out there (crank, rods, pistons, bearings & rings (or any combination of them)) .... best bet would be to check around at different machine shops and let them know what you want and how much you have to spend. They'll usually be able to come up with a package in your price range that should be able to meet your expectations. A solid bottem end will compliment a set of ported heads and a nice XE 230/236, (which should be able to get you into the 12's, if you budget allows).

Just an FYI, I went with Forged Eagle 6" H beems w/ floating pins, Forged SRP flat top pistons and Clevite Bearings for my bottem end. I kept the stock crank cause there are a few people around here running close to a 300 shot on the stock crank. I'm only going to around a 200 shot though.

Hope that helps.
