355 with 400 HP attainable?

Ok ive searched and havent really found proof of a 355 doing 400 HP. Is this attainable with the right cam and right heads? if so which package should i go with?

Also how much power can these trannies hold?

Im sure if you used a good balanced combo with a hair over stock compression, some AFR lt4 heads and a cc 306 or gm 847 cam with long tubes and a good tune plus all the normal bolt on's you would be looking at an easy 400 hp.

getting greedy are we?
yes 400rwhp is attainable with a 355, some have done it on stock bottom end 350, A4 will be a lil bit tougher but its still been done!
most that have done it with stock LT1 castings are done by Phil @ www.advancedinduction.com
then you have the other guys (racers) that put up some ungodly impressive ET's and do valvetrain work, porting, cams, etc.
www.norushracing.com ("squinn")
www.LethalEFIperformance.com ("Joes94ta")

i dont know what a limiting factor on a trans is, except that there are lots of variables that can break or not break one, i think its dependent on the situation, i can tell ya this tho, heat is the number one killer of auto trannys

He he he yup....

This will be later on down the road though. Maybe about 6 months after do the initial swap. ill be doing a cam and rockers and posi and gears BEFORE it goes into the engine bay. Im thinking of doing the ported heads and all that crap next year and hopefully have it all done before next years show season. Ill be doing the swap in may hopefully. Also im going to be attaining a tranny cooler is the first thing ill be getting after the swap. or i may be getting it with the swap.

Yes. You can do it. A guy in our local F-Body club has a 355 making 411 rwhp.
