i run 13.8 @ 102 on a crappy 2.3 60' foot time

had to let off the pedal 3-5 times trying to get it to stop spinning

low 13's are in this car no problem at all

so yeah low 13's are easy with an bolton lt1 , but almost ALL lt1 run low 14's stock

I just ran a 12.5 on my bolt on lt1 that weighs 3660 with me in it. I didn't even do roller rockers. Its all about traction. Here is my website with info.

Mods in sig... best N/A time is 13.472, broke my poly tranny mount on the next run so I know it was stressing on that run. My 60' could have been better on that run too, but my posi is toast, so I barely did a burn out because I didn't want to heat up just one tire. And if you look at the fluid in my rear, there is metal everywhere, gears are on there way out too.

With a good posi unit, I think I'd be good for 13.2xx N/A.

I ran a 13.59 @98.69 with a 1.82 sixty ft. last weekend with the serpentine belt on. I don't even have headers yet and have never been under the valve covers. Other impala guys told me that swapping to Tri-Y or Long Tube beaders are worth .2-.3. I do have a 3200 Vigilante and 4.10s and plenty of bolt-ons. Oh yeah, this is in my 4300# 96 Impala SS I have dyno'd only once and got 255rwhp/320rwtq before the 4.10s and aluminum driveshaft, but with the serpentine belt and air filter off. The iron head LT1 has a much smaller cam than the rest and only put out about 260hp/330tq from the factory

The headers (lt's) are going to give you 25-30hp and 30-35tq, the rockers are like 12-16hp and 8-10tq. So potentially your looking at a 50 hp/tq gain. That is a .5 off your 1/4 time. With very good traction it could be more. If you buy those two mods over winter your going to be a happy guy. go for it.

Actually tho other then for bragging rights for a mostly stock engines Mid lengths are the best, Lt's I think you would have to rev to high to get anything out of em.
The longer the primary tubes, the lower in RPM that the headers become effective.

So long tubes are more effective at lower RPM than either shorties or mids.

Long tubes & roller rockers make a huge diff on a stock LT1
60ft = 1.80
ET = 12.61
MPH = 108.60

With the following mods, I went 12.82 @ 106 MPH with a 1.73 60 ft. with my '93 Z.

93,000 mile completely stock LT1
stock exhaust manifolds.
stock rockers
stock FPR
stock t-body
stock water pump

In other words, the only mods to the engine were:

Splitfire plugs
MSD 7AL-2
MSD "Blaster" coil
Taylor 8 MM wires
SLP throttle body airfoil
Hypertech "generic" chip
Moroso CAI

I did have a 10.5" 3200 stall ProTorque converter, and 4.10 gears.

The car was full weight (3448# with me in it) Still has A/C, back seat, and bumper supports. The only weight reduction was the front sway bar, and the wheels/tires.

Suspension? COMPLETELY stock! All 93,000 mile GM original stuff. I removed the sway bar, and bolted on a set of 26 x 10.5" M/T ET Streets.
