Question 30th Anniversary Stripe Question

I was wondering if the factory orange stripes are still available from the dealer? Anyone know/checked lately? Mine have started to peel up around the the vent/inlet insert in the hodd, but are otherwise in great shape. Will they continue to peel or is it just to relieve the stress of being formed around so much, and I don't have to worry?

Thanks

Cool ZR

They should be still available. I doubt your situation will get better.

stripes

My stripes are coming off in the same area. And i took it back to the dealer ( i have just over 22,000 miles on it ) and asked them to fix it. They said that they could fix it but that all of the 30th Z's have this problem and it will only be a year or 2 before it happens again. They were afraid that if they took off the old stripes and put new ones on, it wouldnt look as good as before because of the install. I just kept it as it is, its hardly noticeable unless you are right next to the car, but it bothers me too. I have yet to make up my mind on what i am going to do.

Ask the dealer to give you the stripes, or else go to a high quality body shop and they'll put them on right. Then they'll last far more than two years. Plus they should be waranted fo at least 5 years. I had my pin stripes redone on the left side of my car and they were applied much better than the factory stirpes plus had a five year waranty with the paint.

I have yet to see any factory tape product whether it is stripes, logos, panels, etc last very long. Get it done in paint at a local shop and forget retaping it.
