As some of you know, I have a 30th Anniversary Z28.(white w/ orange stripes) I'd love to get an SS hood, but my can't find a 30th Anniversary SS hood with stripes already on them. The only thing I can think of is buying a SS hood and buying the SS stripe kit. The only downside is that I only need the hood stripes, and I'll have to pay a whole lot more for everything else in the kit. Also, if I can get the hood, is it tough to make the ram air functional?

 

Im not sure on what to do about the stripes but on the ram air I believe its pretty much just a new air box that sits on top of the engine. Im sure a company sells it.

 

I don't think you'll be able to buy a hood with the stripes on it already, seeing as how you'll have to have it painted to match your car. I'm pretty sure they can paint the stripes on which may save you some cash instead of buying the whole decal kit. I don't know if it'd look out of place with your current stripes though.

 

The stripes on the front bumper are different on the SS's than the Z28's. You will have to change the two small bumper stripes to narrower ones to match the ones on the new SS hood.

 

That's another thing I was afraid of. I thought that was true. Damn, it'll be too much trouble to change the whole car. Ah well. Thanks anyways.
