305's on a 7" rim?
305's on a 7" rim?
Ok, I just received a free set of Mickey Thompson Competitors they are 305/40/16 they look to be in good shape with a fair amount of tread life and a even wear pattern. NOW the kicker is. the guy that gave them to me also gave me the rims they were mounted on.... they are only 7inches wide. I didn't think it would work, but he swears that's the way he ran it for a season. I don't know what the rims are from but he was running them on his 95 thunderbird. Any chance of me popping them on as is?
If I'm not mistaken, the Ford has a 4.5" bolt circle vs Chevrolet's 4.75" pattern. So I don't think you're gonna be able to make it work anyway.
They're a soft flexable tire so I could see one working on a 7" wide wheel but I'd think at least 8" wide would be needed and wider would be better.
