305 cam swap, rr's, pushrod length

Quick question...I am going to put the 305 cam in my 94 lt1....I am also swapping over to 1.6 rr's....not sure if I am planning to take the heads off or not...but if I don't (and it's all stock) and change this setup, how will the length of the pushrods be affected? I know it's best to measure but I was just wondering if someone had any experience w/ this....thanks.

You would most likely be fine with the stock length. (7.2?) But, you answered your own question, just measure to be safe. For example, the hotcam kit comes with 1.6 RR's and they are made to swap right in with the stock pushrods. I have the hotcam kit going in right now and i ordered the comp cams length checker, but havent gotten that far yet.

Thanks.... 69gto96z, I am thinking about going w/ the .010 thinner head gasket as well....not sure if I'm going to take it down that far or not...I think I'll just get everything on and measure...I was trying to buy a day or two....I guess measuring and then ordering will at least give the sealant on the intake time to set up....haha...

Yeah, I decided just to re-use the ones Ive got, they are from a 94 motor, and the 94's had hardened pushrods.

Stock pushrods will work. Not shure that the stock valve springs can handle the 0.537 intake and exhaust lift though.

When in doubt, it is just always a good idea to measure.
