3000 vig. should I get a custome tune?
3000 vig. should I get a custome tune?
I know 2800 is the norm for a car like mine but I found a great deal on a 3000 so I figure it's close enough. Besides I can live with the difference in street driving manners. My question is I've heard you can get more out of the car if you get it tuned, and the higher stall you go the better idea it is to get a tune anyways. Is this true and should I get a tune or wait till I add a few more mods. I might do longtubes at the same time if I can get some anytime soon. Would that make a better reason for a tune also? Thanks

I just got an update on my PCM from Bryan at PCMforless to correct for any possible shift problems I might run into.
generally, if u end up stalling at 3500 or higher is where u run into shifting issues.
i dont think he would have a problem with a 3000, but if he did he would need more than a custom tune. He would have to switch the tranny over to a vacum modulator. but hopefully he wont have to worry about it. fwiw, i would save my money for a set of 3.73 gears and tune it later
