Is a 3000 stall too much

I have a 97 WS6 Auto with 3.23 gears.
I have Air induction of course
Hooker catback
Hollowed out Cats
and a B&M lockup 3000 stall converter.
Is this too much for a stock car.
I had a 150 shot on it at one time and it woke that converter up BIG TIME. But I have since taken it off. I might be putting in a 3.42 rear end soon but I wanted to know if anyone has noticed the car driving slower at the 40-100 MPH range with this setup. It just seems like the car doesnt want to go.

Questions.

1.) What 1/4 and 1/8th times do you expect I will get with this setup?
2.) What mod should I go with next?

Thanks,

Tim

Did you get a converter with an antiballooning plate? You might have hurt the converter.

I have a simliar setup to yours, but I have headers. I have noticed no difference in gas mileage, although it did take some getting used to. I think its a good match and the car pulls like crazy from 40-100 now. My times in sig are with a stock converter and on street tires

no but I will in the end of Sept or early Oct. I will be running on street tires again, so I know it wont be too good. Im expecting 8.6s with decent weather, but Im in FL. Hopefully it will cool of some more by then. With M/Ts, I would expect 8.4s. It is very hard to launch without spinning, and when I do the tranny shifts into 2nd, then back into 1st when I can get into it. I have some playing to do, either with my foot or my laptop

3000 is fine with a GOOD converter which is NOT a word I would use to describe B&M.

And that's exactly what I was thinking. You need to spring for a "real" performance converter.

What would I notice different with a yank, or edge? It locks up with a tiny bit of noise but other than that, there is not much of a problem.
