I think if you have the right exhaust system downstream of
the stock exhaust manifolds the 300 mark is reachable. I was
at 298 with the flowmasters and lost 5 by going with the
Ultraflow, but it was worth it for the quietness. I'll bet that
I can massage the stock manifolds and get back that 5 and
maybe even a couple more to reach the 300 mark.

2 things come to mind...while its not on..it seems like an obstruction...when its on, i feel like it will mess with the MAF sensor and screw the PCm..or am i wrong b/c the PCM doesnt read MAF at WOT?

My friend has a 93 (no MAF), so i cant help you there, There are kits with 2 fans, a compressor fan and a blower fan, there supposably the better ones. I guess it is an obstruction. To be honest, if you can get it cheap, go ahead, if not dont even bother, its not worth the $$$

Well judging by the general population of this board.. mOst stock car's dyno in the 245 range or so.. and over 300RWHP w/ intake and exhaust mod's .. NOt everyone's going to try to massage the stock manifold's you get that far? might as well go the whole way.. Then again you could goto another dyno and have different result's.. I know a few inflated dyno's around my area.. I dynoed 314 on one in VA beach.. Follow the path's laid out for you on the previous post's and .. As w/ anything some smart shopping on the board here adn you can get in that area for under 1K.. Use a cutout instead of a cat back.. cheaper that way..

I never did get to dyno my car before any mods, but I'm pretty optimistic to say that my car was NOT making only 230-240 at the wheels before any mods. There's no way in hell what I've done to my car got me 60 hp to the wheels.

This is close, I believe most "bone stock" LT1 M6 are putting down in the 240's, assuming they are running correctly

Gears don't increase RWHP.
Also true. The higher the gear ratio you actually can lose a few hp, since the gears are not as efficient. Try dynoing in 3rd instead of 4th, and you will see what I mean. 4.10's vs 3.42's tend to avg 8-10 rwhp loss.

If you are running an open exhaust you will get gains, but that's not quite reasonable to run around with cut-outs
I see nothing "un"reasonable about running a cutout. I have been daily driving my TA with cutout open for over a year now, no problems.

BTW, not for me. I should be running around 360 or so with my little mods.JMHO
Only 1 way to find out

also, i think he mentioned he wanted to beat a 300z tt. those cars are very close to ours (stock vs stock). it depends on what mods (if any) have been done to the Z to really know if you need more than 300 rwhp.
