If your sprayed power is 400, even if that's rwhp, my suggestion is that 2-1/2 is more than adequate.
If your sprayed power is 600 or so fwhp, which I doubt you will achieve on a stock engine, go for 3 inches.
If you think you'll get to 500 fwhp, you could probably go either way.
These are general numbers, not cast in stone. Your results may vary.
You could always take a poll and let the votors decide.
Personally, I do care how my engine performs on motor, which is maybe 99.9% of the time. (40 drag runs on juice every 10000 miles).

All right, thanks. Now I need to find a company that sells a 2.5" setup. I've seen people talking about Dr. Gas and a universal Summit kit, but I can't find too much info on either of them. Are there any other alternatives? My true duals will also be going on AS&M midlengths, so I'm aware there will be some additional fabrication required.
