3" exhaust over the axle?
3" exhaust over the axle?
Is this possible? i want to run the 3"bullet muffler with a full 3" exhaust but i have ground effects with the dual exhaust cutout of the rear and want to fill it if possible. thanks

i'm confused
you mean a true dual 3" over the axle exhaust? if so it has been debated at lenght. very expensive and not easy. do a search, look for a guy named taner or tanner..he has it.
i all you mean is a single 3" pipe...that's what the majority of cat backs are, with the exception of mufflex 3.5" or 4"...which both run over the axle...
like i said i'm confused, your explaination is not very informative...

to explain more-id like to run true duals through an x pipe (3") over the axle so i can still use the cut outs in my ground effects. so yes can i fit two three inch pipes over me axle? thanks for the replys guys.

2.5" is perfect for true duals! Unless you're gonna be running some insane amount of boost, like say 30lbs on an LT1
, you don't need anything more than 2.5" with true duals.
every little bit helps right?
I am planning on running true duals sometime in the near future, and I'm going to be using 2.5" most likely. But hey, to each his own, just my .02
everyone has an opinion but i say go for the 3". i'm running duals w/ 3" pipe, x-pipe, and bullets. i have 3.73s, 2400 stall, and a bunch of other crap. that backpressure stuff is a bunch of bull**** in my opinion. why do people gain hp with cutouts? why do people run quicker ets with open headers? you may lose some down low but the gain up high will be worth it. i can tell you that i have NO PROBLEMS with low end torque but I don't spend much time below 2500 rpms either unless the convertor is locked up. what I do have a problem with is traction. so take it how you want but i say go with the 3" if you have many mods or plan many in the future.
Dual 3" is overkill, I had dual 3" and long tubes on my 69 Firebird 400 and it extremely loud, which can be nice I suppose, but it was way overkill indeed. I had to push my car about 4 blocks out of the neighborhood every day to start it, because I worked at 3:30 AM at that time.
Cop magnet, but it was nice
I think the Mustang guys get dual 2 1/8", as a point of reference.
