3.73s,3.42s, or 3.23s?

Alright, first does anyone have 3.73 3.42 or 3.23 gears for sale with all the hardware to switch my P.O.S 2.73 2 carrier unit into the 3 carrier unit? The guy I was going to buy my gears from just disided to not sell them to me after telling me he would. I swung by his shop to talk and tell him I still wanted the gears if he hadnt sold them and he told me he just didnt want to sell them now but still had them anyway thanks and which gears will be the best. I have a 94 z w/ catback madz28 tune it is a daily driver

Thanks

I don't know where you are located but I went to the local Pick A Part and got the posi and gears from an S10 (baby) Blazer. They even use the same build codes (on the glovebox door). I believe you need to look for G80 (limited slip) and GU6 (3.42) ----You will need to double check those build codes - I think Shoebox has it on his site. If not, do a search here.
I paid about $75 out the door for the ring, pinion, and posi. It was cheaper than what I paid for either the 3.73, 4.11 gears, and posi unit (that failed in less than 1000 miles).
I tried the 3.73's and did not like them as there is too much freeway (70+) driving around here and it seemed like the motor was just screaming - not as bad my Nova with 3.73's but too much for use on a regular basis. It was great on the surface streets though!!!

with the A4 do 3.42s if you had an M6 3.73s are the sex or 4.10s are dope, but bit too much for some peopls liking. 3.42s for 4l60e tho.

I ran 4.10s in a daily driven A4 T/A. No problem. Looking for 4.56s in my DD Z28.

3.73's seem to be an all good around gear. I went from the stock 3.23 to 3.73 and felt a noticeable difference. Highway gets a little noisey with an open cutout and 2800rpms @80 but is very do-able for a daily driver.

I just went from 2.73's to 3.42's and I LOVE THEM! 80 mph is now about 2400-2500 rpm's (up from 2,000). Gas mileage didn't really suffer at all. I figure I lost about 10 miles per TANK! The pickup (now that I got most of the other bugs figured out) is great! The car pulls like a freight train in ALL gears now. I didn't loose anything in the mid-range or top end either as a Mustang GT on the Garden State Parkway this morning can attest to! LMAO

Don't have a carrier, but I believe the 3.42s out of my 97SS are rumbling around in the back of my Bronco somewhere. I switched to 4.10s when the 3.42 had around 3 grand on them. Suggest you use ratech solid spacers when you install.
