3.73 to 3.23 ?
I drive a 96 Z28 with some goodies on it that has me running 12:90 @ 108. Thats with 3.73 gears. Engine mods staying the same, if I were to down grade to 323's what kind of ET/trap loss would i suffer? Gas prices are a bi*ch in FL. Just curious?

SOrry guys , the bearings , gears and everything are shot. Im thinking of dropping back down to 323's because of high gas prices. I just want to know how much 323's will slow me down seeing i run a 12:90 with 373's

Engine RPM * Gear Ratio = Output RPM
Increase the gear ratio number, and you increase the speed at which your wheels spin per engine revolution. The faster your wheels spin, well, assuming traction, the faster you go!

Apparently there are some confirmed otherwise stock 5spd Mach1 Mustangs which switch to 4.11 rear end gears and slicks and run low 12's at the track (Launching at 6800rpm with no wheelspin). Granted, these guys must be great drivers, but that is impressive.
Note: I say apparently confirmed because I have yet to see this in person.
