There is no way in **** that you are running 8.3-8.4 with a stock LT1 and normal street tires. You make it sound like you just wandered up to the line in a completely stock LT1 car and ran those times. It's simply not true. Post up the mph and that will be the tale of how much power it has.....

Once I get a solid rear, that won't blow up with a hard launch, and some DR's, I'm sure I'll hit high 7's no problem.

The OP is asking about cams not suspension.

I'm not the focus. My engine is stock. My car is not. My times are consistent 8.34-8.35 @ 82.5-83mph, with slicks. A motor with your cam can put down some very nice times, if the vehicle was set-up to make use of the power it has. Otherwise you are gonna have nice dyno numbers with embarassment at the track. He was asking for track times and I layed out some facts.

Much better. That paints a much better picture on how you made the gains.

Definitely get the 847. Why get something that will give you less power? You will get great fuel mileage, the most power You can get from stock heads, and of course it sounds great.

Soooo i want a cam, i decided not to go all out and get the LE2 package....I want to spend roughly 2k including a couple hundred for installation (friend is a mechanic and will hook me up with install discount)

I dont know what cam go for, or should i stick with lloyd elliot and get a custom cam? I was thinking a timing chain, mezier electric water pump, some better rockers, and......what else? again trying to stick around a 2k budget, or push it to $2500, i got quoted roughly 600ish to install.

I will also send out the computer to pcm4less to get a new tune...so shoot some ideas my way, talking custom cam, and parts i should get while doing this project, i would love to be at low 12s after all this.

My cc503 car put down 323rwhp with pretty much stock heads and through a 3200 converter. All things considered at the motor that's pretty healthy for a bolt on cam only car. It made great power from 3000-6200 but dies quickly after 6.2k, also good job on the tune Madz28 AFR stayed around 12.5-12.1. The car runs a bit healthier now would love to go back and see if I grabbed a few more. If you account for drive train loss (let's say a conservative 15% through an a4) that's 380 at the motor. Mine being a 95, thats 105 hp more than stock and it's within his budget. Also the cam is absolutely streetable with just enough vacuum to run power brakes. A great power band and great power down low. When you downshift you know it. No problems cold starting and just a few notches off the mpgs. Mine is daily driven, it's just enough cam without being to much.

Edit: mail order tune stock injectors, svos and dyno tune coming soon.

the cc306 cam looks like it could be great, also considering just having lloyd elliot grind me up a good custom cam.

decisions decisions.
