285hp in a 97LT1 Z28,at the tires or flywheel?

285hp in a 97LT1 Z28,at the tires or flywheel?

I was just wondering if thats at the flywheel or the tires,also i know that the LT1 IN Z28s from years 93 to 95 make 275hp

i think the 97s are suppose to be 10 more horsepower becuase of the dual cats, someone will correct me if im wrong

That is a "flywheel" rating, not at the tires.

They all usually make from 285-300 at the flywheel, regardless of the year. The dual cat stuff is pretty much marketing bs to make newer years seem "new and improved". If two cats is worth 10hp over a single cat, then the common cat delete would give you like 20hp, lol.

I've seen rear wheel dyno stockers usually range from tired 240rwhp autos to 265rwhp 6 speeds, but of course people have dyno'd lower and higher. Seems to be quite a variation between different LT1s from the factory, even among same years. You will usually get at least the equivelant of 290 at the flywheel on a healthy LT1, but unfortunatly they were not as underrated as the LS1s were.

So the LT1s from 93-95 are the exact same than the 96-97,the engines are built the same?

Nope. Quite a few differences throughout the years, both mechanical and electrical - especially on the 93's. The output is about the same though.
