Yea i am still thinking about it. The motor doesnt seem tired at all. Its a toy -- not my main mode of transportation AND i wont cost me much to rebuild it.. so why not?

White.. didnt mean to come off snobby, but no guts no 12's time slip lol. I just want to play around with the car and my connection with the machine shop keeps thing affordable. I do plan on doing some other things before putting the cam in:

Set of LT1 ported castings
Upgraded springs
New Timing chain
Pray it holds together long enough for me to take it to the track!

I only want to rebuild the motor if its running rough, or just plain ole' failed. Why rebuild it now if it shows no signs of aging?

I knew you weren't being snobby. I was really saying go for it-I didn't know you had an easy way to rebuild/the means to rebuild when if/when it goes. But I honestly don't think that it will last too long--but it's all just a guess. Could go a long time, could fail on start-up, never know on that high of milage what will happen. Also how high you spin it will determine it's life. Do you have good oil pressure?

Re: 240K on the motor -- would you do a cam?!

White.. The engine is perfect! It doesnt even have build up under the valve covers. If you take the oil filler cap off its still nice and shiny. Looks new. Oil pressure is awesome, no smoking upon startup or when i get on it, starts on the first click, and pulls awesomely.

But you are right -- it could go a while, or grenade on the first test drive. I guess i half heartidly believe that the motor has been rebuilt along the way to 240K... which give me a bit of confidence to rip into it. If it were low on oil pressure and generally not running strong i would go for the rebuild.

I called the machine shop today to have them setup my heads to run with that high lift cc466 cam -- I have a 93Z with Manual and heard that might be a good cam. Any thoughts?
