Are you positive those are LT4 springs? Those are no where even close to being the right springs for a 230/236 with 1.6's!
Before you wind up that engine, I'd give some very, very serious thought to putting the right springs in there ASAP.

the LT4 springs are good to .525 lift and the cam is ......
Advertised Duration Int.: 282
Advertised Duration Exh.: 288
Duration @ 0.050 (I/E): 230/236
Lift, (I/E): .510/.520
Lobe Separation: 110°
RPM Range: 2200-5800
Type: Retro-Fit Hydraulic Roller
how much lift is 1.6 RR's adding to the cam?
i know it is pushing it but it shouldnt be over too much should it?

Your cam with 1.6's is now 544/555ish. Clearly too much for those springs.
Take the lift (we'll use 510) and divide it by 1.5. That'll give you 340. Multiply that by 1.6 and you'll get 544. That's how you calculate the difference 1.6's will make when used with a cam which lists it's lift with 1.5's.

Yes those springs will bind. Not a good idea man, maybe pull them out and pick yourself up a set of cc-986 or cc-987 springs. But seriously pulls those springs out before you do some serious dmg to anything else.
I was thinking of a 700R4 swap also. Did you have any complications? Any special parts needed? Make sure and post those track times with the new combo. I was thinking of a XE 230/236 or a CC306 cam this winter.
