230/236/112 Rocks!
230/236/112 Rocks!
Hey guys,
I have finally done something right! and I'm talking from experience, not he said she said.
I just want to say to anyone considering getting this cam, but is undecided due to the size and rumors heard about this cam...
Pay the rumors no mind and GET it
This cam is a blast to drive and pulls like hell from 3k on up, but mine seem to come on a little earlier. It drives like stock around town. I almost didn't get it due to the posts about gas smells, cam surge, being hard to tune, needing steeper gears, etc.
But my brethern on this board who has this cam steered me in the right direction.
I have stock 3.42 gears with 0 problems, but want to step up to 3.73s to come off the line a tad bit quicker. Cam surge is almost non-existant. (its got to be in the tuning). 2k and above seems to be the sweetspot in my set-up. Maybe someone out there is considering this cam but has come to the crossroads between it and a smaller one....Hopefully this post will help you decide whats best for ya
Dyno #s are coming soon.

I am also running a similar custom ground cam on a blown set-up 228/236 510/533 112LSA with 1.5 RR's . I'm still breaking the motor in but have made a few runs and the car pulls like crazy , I've had it to 6700 rpm with no hesitation after breaking it in I wouldn't hesitate to spin it well past that.
Yep a lot of people talk bad about the steep ramps on the XE grinds. BAH! No problems here. I love this cam and really will go bigger later on down the line.
When people hear your car idling it turns heads.
My recent dyno #'s with this cam and an A4 are in sig.

Numbers with that cam and stock heads are in sig. Yes I need gears too, 4.10's would be a better choice then 3.90's.
EDIT: As for track times the best ET was 13.3 and best mph was 109.72

Glad to hear all of the additional testimonies
I bought this cam along with the rockers, springs, hardend pushrods and most of the installation items from Nick @ Nuteck Motors about 1 yr ago.
Then saved up for the heads from Lloyd. Basically just stock piling parts.
You can definately "feel" the cam.
As far as gears...can someone enlighten me. I read a stating that if you had the torsen set-up in your rear, you had to get some special parts from SLP in order to install higher gears

The 3.90's brought my car to life.
