224/230 cammed 93 firehawk dyno results
Finally got my car on a dynojet..and put down 310 rwhp SAE, 317 rwtq SAE. STD it was 318 rwhp and 323 rwtq. Originally my car was dynoed on a mustang dyno where it made 267 rwhp, but the guys only pulled it up to 5500 rpms..and said it was running pig rich. I wasn't convinced that they dynoed accurately when they stated my car made over 900 rwtq...Air/Fuel for this run was in the 12.5-12.8 range.
I have a graph scanned if anyone wants to host it and see..the TQ curve is very flat, as is the HP. It doesnt start to drop off in power until 6200 rpms.
car is a 93 firehawk automatic with 224/230 112 lsa cam, 1.6 rockers, AS&M mid length headers, cut-out, madz28 tune, and stock firehawk intake. Has a 2800 stall also.
Next mods will be 3.73 gears, drag radials, high flow cat, bigger injectors, ported heads, maybe a bigger 58 MM TB.
Will dyno again once this is all done.

Thanks. I think theres some power to be had with a high flow cat, and maybe some long tube headers. im probably going to get the cat, but keep the mid lengths for emissions. I cant imagine a stock 12 year old, 87K mile cat to be in good working condition.. Overall, I am pretty happy with the numbers.
If anyone wants to see the graph, I just need a place to host it. The cam has a real strong power curve.

They drive good. It should drive as good as stock.. the only difference is you'll hear a little lump to the idle.
I'm guessing its probally the cat thats keeping it from doing the 320-340 that I see usually with that cam on the 93's.

Its not my daily driver..but i would have no problem driving it daily. The only problem is its pretty loud for my tastes for a DD. 80 miles a day would kill me! nothing that cant be fixed if i put a muffler on it...but i like it nice and loud as a weekend cruiser. i'd say its a good option for a cammed DD.
