Re: 218/224 Cam

why not go with the hotcam. It comes with just about everything you need for $500. It is 219/228 duration .525/.525 lift on 112 LSA. It sounds nice, good bang for the buck, 50 state legal, and perfect for a daily driver.

If you are talking about the CompCam CC-502, Comp Cam said i would need to have a 3.73 gear--heard its the largest cam to use on a stock tc Dwayne

Re: 218/224 Cam

I have the 218/224 on a 114 ls for my blower and it is a good mild cam for everyday use. As said above the hot cam it pretty similiar in size and is probably a little cheaper.

Re: 218/224 Cam

Id definitely go with the hotcam kit if thats the size of cam you are looking at... save you about $300-$400 easy going that route. Also, you would probably be looking at around 320-330 rwhp with the setup granted you have the supporting mods like headers, exhaust, CAI and PCM tuning.

I had a setup with that cam (111 lsa) and it made 343 sae rwhp/tq. setup was, m6, 3.73 10 bolt, midlengths, and other normal bolt ons but nothing exotic and no dyno tricks (the overwieght car also trapped 112).

I picked it because of its good manners for a daily driver (my gf at the time was using it to commute to work)and for its low rpm powerband for a nice long bottom end life. i liked it and would recommend it for a street car.
