200R4 to replace 4l60e in 95 T/A

Anyone know if this will work. I heard this is the tranny from the g/n and that it is an awsome unit. Now, can it bolt to the LT1, and will they last.

Last, how much are they? Would a stock rebuilt one be okay for strip use?

The 200R4's are good transmissions, but dont' discount the 4L60E. I've seen cars make over 1000hp with them. Don't just jump into the 200R4 conversion like the LS1 guys are doing.

well, i have found a few places that sell 2004r's for fairly cheap (in comparison to the fact that they cost about what we'd pay for just a rebuild) and they advertise that they have all the strong bands and clutches and are ready for constent strip use with 500+hp. Now, I am not pushing anywhere near that, and I dont go to the track too often (although I'd like to). I am just wondering what all would have to be changed, and would it be worth it to swap in a 2004r and a converter if my car see's the track?
