yeah, believe it or not i ended up getting this new one off ebay...i about crapped my pants when i seen that i won the auction! i was kinda scared cause the car was in S.C and i'm in Ohio but it's one of the nicest lt1 Z's i've ever seen around here, i was very happy when i got it!
back to your problem, if you know anyone else with a LT1 Fbody, see if you can switch them MAF sensors for a while and run a half tank of gas or so and see if that changes your mileage. if so then you will know you need to find a MAF sensor. if that's the problem, i'd just buy a used one off a wrecked car or something...maybe $25 or so?...
also might want to check your plugs and fuel filter.
best of luck, i put alot of miles on my car driving to school and all so if my mileage was that bad i couldn't afford to drive. if you figure out what the problem is, let us know!

Hey Dave... I used brand called Electrosolve Contact Cleaner by MG Checmicals. I went to a local electronics parts store for it. the ones at the local radio shacks only had the contact cleaner /w lubricant. this one has no lubricant and says zero residue on the can, so i went with it. Didnt give me an SES after using it so I would think it's good, but Im sure any zero residue contact cleaner would be fine, although I wouldnt fool around with the MAF if you're not experiencng any issues like myself. I will see how my car runs with the cleaned MAF, I hope it really does get better, if not I will see about tryin to borrow a MAF. I will let you guys know how things are coming along. If you have any other suggestions in the mean time, I will gladly listen. Thanks

i get about 160 to 180 miles per tank. My mods are only headers and catback with no cats. This seemed low to me. I am gonna try to clean my MAF tomorrow too. I have new o2s and o2 sims, anything else you guys can think of that would do it?

I think we're all missing something here. You shouldn't be measuring gas mileage "by the tank", but in mpg. To do this, you have to fill up the same way every time and reset your trip odometer at each fill up. Then, it's just simple math: miles/gallons. I get 17mpg in town and 29-32mpg on the highway with 3.73 gears, before the cam/heads. My city mileage hasn't changed and I get over 27mpg highway after cam/heads, on a stock tune. Oh, and I use Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W-30/AC Delco PF25 filter year-round.

thats what i did... 7gallons of gas in 70 miles of normal city driving (not lead footin' it). I already changed O2s, Fuel Filter, plugs/wires and changed my gas cap back to the stocker.. Cleaned my MAF a few days ago. Wont be gettin to use my car much for a few weeks, but I'll see how the mileage looks.
