does your shifter go from 1-2-D-OD, or 2-D-OD? is your speedo a 150 or 110?

if you have the first choice you have 3.23s if you have the second you have 2.73s

thats what ive heard anyway

115mph speedo means nothing, My car had the 235/55 tires and the 155mph speedo with 2.73's.

I myself wouldn't trade my gears for any 3.23+ gears, I have yet to loose ta a car equiped with 3.23's (stock vs stock) not to mention the really cool 2nd to 3rd shift at 96mph!

Get higher gears and a HPP3 so you can recalibrate for your gear change and also delete the 110 speedo limiter. Hell, with that limiter, you won't be able to dyno. My car pulled 170 mph in 3rd on the dyno.

I liked my 2.73's but compared to the 3.42's they suck. Takes forever to get in my powerband...

well they could always change the tires. the ones w/ the 115 speedo were actually speed limited because they didn't have the ZR's.... and uhm, you must have raced some stupid people w/ 3.23s. you just have to be kinda careful w/ the throttle, because you'll be sideways through first and half of second if you just floor it

first gear is not selectable on the ones w/ out the performance axle. it was some kind of way around emmissions (like cags)

Not emissions in a gas mileage or pollution way but noise emissions.

The 2.73 cars could be manually taken into 1st gear at a higher mph than the 3.23 cars, the exhaust noise was to loud to pass.

That is the same reason the factory WS.6 single on the left tailpipe was only available for 1 year.
