can you put2.02 /1.60 valves in the lt1 heads, I thought that i seen somewhere that the combustion chambers were too small or something?

 

Talk to Lloyd Elliot, but i beleive you can do 2.02

 

I've got a set of ported stock castings in my garage with 2.02 and 1.60 valves in them.

I built a set for my engine. I had to put larger seats in and blend everything to the larger valves/seats. Ill know if it was all worth it when I put a good tune-up on this thing.

 

Lloyd can do 2.05 with extra machining and a bit more $.

 

2.02/1.60's will not fit in stock valve seats. you will have to get larger ones put in. 2.0/1.56 is the max on stock vlave seats i believe

 

The money spent vs the power gained is a waste for sure. After the seats and valves are upsized, its the port work done after, that will make the gains you see. I would just stick to the stock size and spend my money on a great port job and get the results that way.
