An opti Question...YAY

After taking the opti out of its cubby hole do you have to replace any seals in or around the opti? (I know about the waterpump gaskets) Cause ive done it 2 times so far and ive got an oil leak that just wont go away.

Re: An opti Question...YAY

The only oil control seal related directly to the opti is the one in the timing cover. I would replace it while the opti is out. There are two o-rings on the opti drive shaft that you might want to replace. They are not oil seals, but their purpose seems to be to stabilize the shaft.

You might also want to consider changing the water pump drive seal. It seems to be prone to leak lots of oil.
