2.02/1.60 valve seats in stock LT1 heads??
Hi,
I was wandering if it is possible to install 2.02/1.60 valve seats into stock (but extensivly ported) LT1 heads. I have called many supposidly reputible machine shops and all they wanted to do is regrind the stock valve seats for 2.00 inch valves. But I dont see the point in doing this because you arnt incrasing the throat size of the seat and not gaining any more flow from the heads. All you are dont is making the face of the valve larger and making the valve train heavier. But my main question is can this be done and if so can i use the 2.02/1.60 seats and run 2.00/1.57 or 1.56 valves in these seats to eliminate any interferance between the valves themselves. I think the outside diameter of the valve seats might be to large to fit in the chamber but also can the OD of the seat be machined down to fit in the stock seat location. Sorry for so many different question, Ive been at work all night thinking about this and what I can do to get more flow out of my heads. Thanks a million for you help and info.
