Talking 1st Time down track...

Yesterday I took my bone stock white '95 Z down the strip. Tell me what you guys think..

1/4 14.221
60' 2.180
R/T .622
mph 97.810

First time down..I am getting the cutout welded in this week and am ordering an SLP cold air intake soon. What do you think I'll run with those?

How many miles were on the car? That is a nice time by a car that is stock. My T/A had 125k miles on it and ran a 14.4 at 96 the first time I took it. I would say with the cutout and the intake, you should be looking at if lucky a 13.9 but a good 14.0 run is in your future.

A set of nittos should get you into the 13's, it did for my buddy's stock camaro. Cut-out on my car was worth 9RWHP and with the intake you should certainly be in the 13's. Later

Throw some good tires on there, and do some weight reduction. Pull your spare tire, rear seats, passenger seat, all the unused seatbelts, padding, head unit, it really adds up.

Nothing worse than a loud car with a cut running high 13's, low 14's....to me.

I still say cutouts are crap, way to loud for what some have claimed 5-10 rwhp.......and have seen personally at my local dyno shop a car gain almost 30 rwhp by capping his cutout.

I am guessing that loss of power is do to no back pressure. Other than that, I don't see how it is possible to loose that much..

different strokes for different folks I guess, my low 12 second car gained RWHP from my cutout over a flowmaster exhaust which may not be that nice but its not stock, i personally like the way it sounds but some don't, oh well can't please everyone, $50 on a college budget for 9 RWHP and 10RWTQ is all gravy for me.... later
