1st time

Well went to the track tonight for the first time ever. I ran a best of 15.166 @ 94.26mph. My 60 was a 2.522 and my r/t sucked booty with an amazing 1.535, I was nervous as hell. The best for my car is 14.58 @ 95mph with a 2.222 60.

I assume you weren't shifting too well huh? I'm sure you'll get used to it, but 15's?! Start going more often and get better aquainted. Good luck.

Ya I was shifting really early cause I kept hearing people saying LT1 has great bottom end but no top end so I shifted before 5k rmps well found out that's not the way to go. Oh and my 3rd and final run I spun the tires like crazy and missed 3rd.

Not bad. RELAX MAN!!! Become a part of your car, sit in the seat, wipe the sweat off your hands, take a deep breath and count to 10, breathe out. Do that at the track, when your about ready to do a burn out. Helped me anyway. I was ashamed of my first time slip with my 97 SS, a whopping 14.80something. at 104. until I relaxed, then it was all gravy bro. Good luck.

Just curious, how do you know the best for your car is 14.58 ET when it was your first time at the track and your best was a 15.16?
Anyway, just keep going out there and practicing. I sucked real bad the first couple of times myself.

I took it to the track last week and had more accomplished drivers run it just so it would give me something to go for right off the bat.

Just give it some time you'll get used to it and go more often. I shift at about 5900 by the tach (supposedly stock they runn about 200rpm high at redline) so thats actually about 5700ish. Grab second hard and fast shift outta second about the same, and third I run to about 5700...don't get to redline in fourth in the 1/4 ... at least not yet

Oh yeah, one more thing the short shifting probably hurt your times some too. I trapped at 100.02mph when I went and thats with my heavy *** wheels on the car. All I've got is a catback, I'm looking for 102+ next time and 13.70s or 13.80s at least if I get the factory wheels back by then.
