1rst gear

1rst gear

Why doesnt my 1995 z-28 have 1 or 1rst, it starts at 2?? Can I take the stop out and have 1?

although many people say you can't do this it can be done I did it on mine although people say there is no real reason to be holding 1st I do though

I I remember right it's cause you have 2.73's. I think you may be able to get it adjusted but it might throw off the rest of the gears with it...

HUH???

I dont follow at all, yes the car has 2.73's but what does that have to do with being able to hold 1rst manually?

The gear selector that included 1st came with the optional 3.27 gear.

just take the sptop out you do not need a new plate, or at least I didn't. I just have to hold it when it is in 1st if I let go it goes to second

Mine goes into first and stays there?
And no you dont need a new plate.. it just goes back further where first is..

I agree with Mtrhds94Z...i did it to mine...it stays in first until i switch it.....you dont need to adjust anything or touch anything else..just the plastic stopper..

I have an auto that originally came with 3.23 gears (now has 3.73), but you still can't hold 1st forever (at least mine won't). It'll shift to 2nd with tire spin and with too high of a rev. Now 2nd gear is a different story....
