1LE mount and Oil pressure question
1LE mount and Oil pressure question
while driving on the highway for a half hour sometimes i notice my oil guage goes from 42psi ( where it always stays at no matter what rpm when at operating temp) to like 59psi....later after about say 30 miles it will go back to 42 and stay...weird huh? whats going on?
Also i just recently installed a 1LE tranny mount as my stock one broke hard...it was driving great with no smack even on the hardest of bumps for about a month now when....just today diving home on the highway from school i felt it smack like 5 out of every 15 bumps...i hate the sound and feel of it when it happens...is it b/c they are stiffer and this will happen periodically? I alsdo heard that the 1LE mount puts stress on the rear components since it is set up higher..is this true? I plan on getting under there tomarrow and checking it...your input is greatly appreciated.

Re: 1LE mount and Oil pressure question
i agree.....check the sending unit wires.
The noise might not be the trans mount. There are plenty of other things that could be knocking under the car. Exhaust, suspension components, etc. I had bad wheel hop once that tore off the lower bushing of the rear shock. That thing was banging around for a couple weeks before I figured out what the problem was. I have also had my muffler bump up and hit the trunk as well as the rear end hit the pipe that curves over it during big bumps. I lowered the exhaust 1/2in to keep it from hitting the trunk, then the axle hit the pipe sometimes......i got it somewhere in between now and it's fine. Look underneath and see what you find.
