It looks like it's upside down. Looks like that is where the "donkey dong" would be, but it's not there, since it's the 1LE. I'm not real sure though.

Yes.... the picture is upside down. That is where the air silencer tube would push in, but in the 1LE elbow, it is a solid block.

Correct. No opening.

You can get one of these for less than $50 from an online GM parts dealer like Jason Cromer or Dal Slabaugh.

Or you can just make (or buy) a plug for your stock elbow. There as absolutley nothing to be gained here, except its a lot easier to install the elbow without tearing it.... which seems to be a current epidemic.

The picture is upside down, and there is no hole in the elbow, it just runs flush through with that little stub added on there.

93-94 1LE Intake Elbow Part Number(no vent hole for Opti) - 25147210

95-97 1LE Intake Elbow Part Number(vent hole for Opti) - 25147187

those are GM Part Numbers. You could go to any GM Dealer and have them order it for ya.

You can cut that extra rubber off with a razor knife for a more clean look..
Jason Cromer is the way to go.. probably about 50 bux or so with shipping...

Okay I'll say it.........It's a waste of money

put the 100 bucks you are going to pay GM to something better.

Just my opinion.......
