1LE frees up hp??

By deleting the silencer are you really freeing up a few hp? I didnt think you gained any hp from a 1LE but then I read this. This elbow allows you to remove the ugly, power robbing "home plate" air box resonator under the hood of your Camaro for a clean look. It also makes a few extra horses and gives that satisfying intake "roar" when used with a cold air kit!

True or False?

Are you talking about the silencer (aka donkey dong)? You dont have to buy the 1le piece to get rid of the donkey dick. You can pull off the silencer and put in a shampoo cap (pert or suave i think). its not worth much, maybe worth 1-2hp, and it doesnt give any sort of "roar" that i've ever noticed

What do you guys use to hold the shampoo cap on? Will super glue work? JB-Weld? I know it gets a little hot in that area.

Where was this posted? The "home plate" reference is usually reserved for an appendage on the B-body cars.

Nevertheless, it's not a horsepower adder.
