1LE A/C Delete Pulley

I'm in the middle of rounding up parts for my LT1 swap into my 1997 Sonoma. One problem I have is that I'm gonna be running the 1LE A/C Delete Pulley, but I cannot find a belt from Auto Zone, O'Reilley, or Napa. Does anyone have a part number or a length of the 1LE drive belt?

Did you already test fit a stock length belt on there? The same belt I had before works fine with my 1LE pulley and the same goes for most of the people running the 1LE except for certain people who had to go with a half inch or so shorter belt.

MOST people find that the stock belt length works fine. A FEW have gotten a belt slightly shorter than stock.

Buy a stock length belt. If it isn't correct, and you haven't damaged it or the packing, most parts stores will allow you to exchange.

There is a small pointer on the idler pulley housing that will tell you if the belt you are using is within the correct range.

Yeah I like my AC too. I wouldn't consider removing it if mine wasn't already out.

Yes I'm bringing up dead posts. Wanna elaborate on this or is it pretty self explanatory when you look? I just backed my car off the ramps and am too lazy to stick it back up there and look. Interestingly enough I think I need a slightly longer belt after installing the a/c delete pulley.

Get under there good, with plenty of light and you should see it easily. The marks are on the drive tensioner and not the pulley itself. Sort of towards the top.

Re: 1LE A/C Delete Pulley

I had to use a MUCH shorter belt when I installed the A/C delete pulley on my 94 LT1....

Stock belt here. I cannot really see how it would not work for others, all the front end access are the same and so is the delete pulley. Who knows. Guess you need to try it and find out for everyone.

Thanks for the tip. I think the descrepancy is coming from GM switching belt size midway through '94 model year.

Re: 1LE A/C Delete Pulley

I'm glad this post resurfaced.. I am getting ready to do my 1LE a/c delete pulley pretty soon and was wondering about the belt sizing being different.

not just belt size, they changed the size of the pulley on the A/C compressor(93-94 was smaller, 94-97 was a little larger)

I know I just didn't feel like typing that much.

63.7" on the earlier 64.2" on the latter supposedly.
