1996 LT1Won't Start

Hi guys,

I put a new Meziere pump on my 1996 LT1 today taking care not to get the opti wet. The car started a couple times, sputtered and died. Now it just cold cranks. The car was sitting for about 6 months and has a GM 847 cam with 32 lb injectors. I am thinking it may be flooded or something??? The plugs only have about 10k miles on them. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Loren

Is the gas stale? Have you checked for spark? Check fuel pressure. Scan for codes.

Thanks Injuneer,

1. Added 5 gallons of fresh gas to a nearly empty tank.
2. Tested spark on two plugs using "old school" spark plug clamp on type spark tester.
3. Checked fuel pressure...42+ psig.
4. Need to load software on new laptop to check for DTC's

Would have been useful to put that in your first post.

it's stupid but did you make sure all the wiring you removed to get at the water pump is connected again? .. Specifically the IAT sensor on the air intake?

I would be tempted to make sure injectors arent stickking. Could try starting with gas pedal to the floor.

if injectors are sticking, your fuel pressure will drop very quickly.. Easy enough check..
Someone probably has the acceptable GM values for PSI over time for the fuel pressure.
