1995 Z28 Throttle Sticking Question

I am new here and have a question? I recently purchased a 1995 Z-28 with 85K miles on it. Today the throttle stuck wide open twice on my son as we were driving. This happened when he pushed the pedel to the floor, it would not return. We stopped the engine and checked and it will hang wide open at times when the pedel is fully depressed. This is the first time this has happened. I did have a new water pump installed today and I am not sure what parts had to be removed under the hood. Has anyone had a simialar problem or can anyone help me on this?

Thanks!

Check the torsion springs on the throttle body are in good working order and there isn't anything (i.e. vacuum lines) interferring with the linkage. You can also dab some oil on the butterfly rod where it meets the body of the throttle body.
