1995 Mac Headers on a 1997- Air tube problem

Okay the subject says it all, I have a 1997 z28 and I am looking to put 1995 headers on it but the air tubes fittings are different sizes. I called mac and they said just to go get air tubes for a 1995 but I was wondering if anyone has done anything different. I know this has probaly been coved here before but sine I can not search for 95 or 97 because of the character limt for the search option and nobody ever puts the full year I was unable to find any detail solutions about.

SO with that being said please let me know..

Thanks

I have the same setup.. i just went to a local fittings store and got an adapter.. one end sized to fit the header threads, the other to fit the EGR, etc. tubes.. works like a charm

I got mine from Jet-Hot. Told them what I needed and they sent them. They fit the headers, but the threads into the AIR tubes seemed a little tight. It doesn't leak though.

I would do like the previous post said and go to the hardware store and find the male to male adaptor.

stereomandan ;

I called jet hot as well and they said they did not have anything that would work for me. They said the only adapter they had was for the 95 setup and it was metric. Do you have part numbers from them?

Knightrider794;

I to went to the fitting store and the only fittings I could find were pipe thread on one side and the other side is a 45 degree flare fitting. The tube coming off the headers is a straigth thread not pipe thread as far as I can tell and according to mac. I am having a hard time finding an adaptor that goes from straight thread to a flare side, do you have an manufacture who you used and maybe some part numbes.

So how do you guys like this setup, are you running a cat with it or no?

Ill have to see about who makes the adapter and its p/n... ill try to find it. At first i ran with an offroad y-pipe and no cats.. it sounded really good and ran good too. I was planning on keeping it under 5000 miles a year so i wouldnt have to pass emissions but that went out the door, so i had a custom y-pipe made up with dual high flow cats and electric cutouts. I couldnt really notice a seat of the pants difference running cats compared to running without cats.

Why didn't you just go with one high flow cat, would that not of been enough? I am kind of lucky here we have emmisions but it is OBDII so they only scan for engine codes, no codes you pass. Please let me know what you come up with, thanks for helping.
