1995 LT1 engine

will parts off a 1995 LT1 Engine fit my 1997 LT1 i found a 95 LT1 Engine for 1000 with the harness and computer with it but the guy traded a big block for it and he said it was a drop out and he has not heard it run. Do u think a 1000 is to much for it. Thanks

Re: 1995 LT1 engine

You should specify what parts, but most everything will fit. Without knowing the status of the engine, he is asking at least twice as much (maybe more) as it is worth, IMO.

Price seems pretty steep in my opinion too, depends on all the known info on it I guess

Re: 1995 LT1 engine

while the 97 motor will bolt in, you need to use your 97 timing cover, crank sensor ring and re-use your knock sensors as the 95 is OBD1...unless you swap in the OBD1 PCM which would need to be tuned for whatever your current 97 is. IMHO easier to transfer the appropriate parts from your 97 over to the 95 motor.

$1k for a you don't know it ran or condition is steep

Re: 1995 LT1 engine

Finally Got In Touch With The Guy To Ask Him A ? Or 2. This Is The Reply I Got From Him. The Car Sit For 6 To 8 Months Before The Motor Was Pulled. The Car Was Running Before It Was Parked. It Was Parked Because The Owner Of The Car Passed Away And His Father Sold The Car. The Condition Of The Motor Is Fine. So With That What Would Be A Good Price For It. Thanks Again

Re: 1995 LT1 engine

I wouldn't buy any engine I had not heard run unless it was so cheap I did not care the outcome. On another forum a guy just bought a running 95 whole car for $100.
