yeah, no kidding

but, on to your problem - anything been done to the car, ie. cam, headers, etc? what do you mean by "stopping the gas?" or is that "stomping" the gas? if you're getting a lot of black smoke when stomping the gas it sounds like it's running extremely rich - more info regarding any upgrades/changes to you car would be helpful

Yea, I quit reading after the first few words. Why are we seeing all
these 'word-cap' postings?

The site software will not allow posting in all caps. It changes "all caps" to what you see above.... cap first letter on all words, lower case on all other letters in a word.

Sounds like what happened to me last year. Check the o2's. Mine were shot causing a rich fuel mixture. If this is the case spend the extra money and buy AC delco o2's from a dealership. The part store ones are cheaper and don't always hold up for long. I made that mistake once and will never do it again.

But your GM parts from an online discount source, not your local dealer.

check you optispark. if you have a check engine light get the codes pulled. code 16 means you need a new distributor. i went thru similar symptoms and got low pulse resolution code.

O2s, if it stops doing it when you go WOT thats because the computer doesnt really use the readings from the O2s at WOT so it would make sense. as Injuneer said make sure you buy GM O2s not some crappy after market stuff
